Through the past two months, we have seen utter destruction take place within the Gaza Strip, a narrow territory between Israel and Egypt that is home to two million Palestinians.

Hamas, the terrorist group ruling the Palestinian state, fired 5,000 rockets into Israel in the early morning hours of Oct. 7.

As Americans, it's hard to understand the brutality that is affecting not just soldiers but civilians, too.

“It is incredibly sad the Hamas attack with the death of thousands, it's hard to believe the brutality of the attack,” said Ezra Cappell, a Jewish Studies professor at the College of Charleston.

When asking students at the College of Charleston, opinions range from all sides, some having difficulty picking a side at all.
